Biography
George (Ngāpuhi/Ngai Tū Te Auru) is a graduate of the UK based arts academy Associated Studios. In 2019, he graduated with a Foundation Certificate in Music Theatre.
His first major role was as an offstage swing/understudy for GMG Productions in their NZ tour of Madagascar: The Musical. His other credits include Shrek: The Musical (Showcase Entertainment Group), West Side Story, We Will Rock You (Tauranga Musical Theatre), Cats (Stage Right Trust), and recently played Bob and Others in the New Zealand Premiere of Come from Away (Showbiz Christchurch).
George made his Court Theatre debut in 2023, portraying the role of Henry in Next To Normal, directed by the critically acclaimed performer Hayden Tee. In the summer of 2025 he is set to play Bob/Ensemble/Understudy Josh in 9 to 5 The Musical.
Born in Tāmaki Makaurau, raised in Tauranga, and based in Ōtautahi, he brings a unique upbringing and skillset. He has performed in many major events, including Tauranga’s local Christmas in the Park, and the one-week, nationwide school sports competition known as AIMS Games for various years.
